HP DESKJET ENVELOPE MACRO. One of the nagging problems with the Windows printer drivers is the need to activate the control panel to change paper settings. This macro utilizes the automating features of Excel to set up the Hewlett Packard DeskJet printer to print envelopes. To use, start HPDJ_ENV.XLM. Using the key combination ^e starts the control panel, changes the settings for manual envelope feed, closes the control panel, and opens a worksheet to enter the envelope text. Use column B on this worksheet. Enter an add- ress (up to five lines), and print. That easy. To restore the printer set-up, use ^r. The macro will close the worksheet, start the control panel, restore the settings, and close the control panel. CAUTION: THESE ASSUMPTIONS APPLY-- [1] That the DeskJet is the active and selected printer when the macro is called. [2] That the DeskJet is set up to print on letter sized paper from the paper tray. [3] That the DeskJet is set to Portrait Mode. When you download this archive, you should get three files: HPDJ_ENV.XLM--Contains the macro instructions. HPDJ.XLS--The worksheet to hold envelope text. HPDJ_ENV.TXT--This text file. Excel is a registered trademark of Microsoft, Inc.; DeskJet is a registered trademakr of Hewlett- Parkard, Inc. Uploaded as Freeware by: Tom Bishop 71210,1234.
